Service Learning in Brazil
Students traveling to Brazil will spend two weeks working at a Brazil Methodist Church-sponsored summer camp for urban, underprivileged children at Nova Almeida, which is in Vitoria, a coastal city. The 24 students also will study the history and cultural life of Brazil, the largest country in South America, as well as the establishment, history and current life of the area’s Methodist church. They will be working to complete the construction of a camp dormitory, as well as doing landscaping and fence construction at the camp. They also will visit historical and cultural sites in the Vitoria area and in Rio de Janiero.
