Internship in Richmond: Corporate Ethics

Lauren Shirocky will spend January interning with the director of Corporate Responsibility for Bon Secours Richmond Health System in Richmond, just a short drive from Ashland. Bon Secours is a Catholic affiliated group of hospitals that uphold certain guidelines and expectations for doctors and hospital staff. During her internship, Lauren will be helping to re-draft the guidelines for pediatric research within the Bon Secours hospital system. She also will be attending an ethics class dealing with issues in medical ethics and assessing the physician compliance guide to decrease the gap between physicians and patients.

1/31/2007    Last Day of Internship/ Good News Today is my last day at Bon Secours. Michael is away on business for the next several days, so I am coming in today just to kind of wrap everything up. I did some reading in the morning on current ethical issues and read two articles for the ethics night class that I have been attending with Michael every other week from 6-8pm on Tuesdays.
