J-Term Diaries: Haiti
Haiti:Students will engage in activities in and around Port-au-Prince, including lectures on agriculture, economics, history and environment. Additionally, students will receive instruction in Haitian Creole and cultural etiquette and experience the music, texts, rhythm and dance of Haiti. During the second week of travel they will teach Haitian students the principles and activities of Computer Science Unplugged at the Maison Fortune Orphanage in the Central Plateau. The group will also visit a Haitian market and Bassin Zim, a waterfall near Hinche.
