Religious Studies 240: Italy: Heritage of Christianity
Students will explore the cultural, social and religious aspects of ancient and modern Italy and will travel to Rome, Vatican City, Florence, Venice, Siena, Assisi, Pompeii, Sorrento and the Almalfi coast. A highlight of the trip will be an audience with Pope Benedict. While in Venice, students will walk through the streets of the once-great city of Pompeii, which was buried by an eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 29 CE.
