History 221 / Japan 221: Tokyo Past and Present

This course delves into the history of Tokyo, Japan, the world’s largest city. Students will visit art and historical museums, wander through traditional neighborhoods and high-tech commercial centers, watch sumo wrestling and kabuki plays and explore other aspects of Japanese history and culture. Those students with Japanese language ability will be encouraged to practice their skills.
