When I woke up this morning I had an eager feeling of anticipation. But, before i talk about the departure to Brazil an introduction is in order. My name is Kirby Preroff and I will be a "blogger" for this trip. I am junior at Randolph Macon from Baltimore Maryland (GO Ravens). I decided to blog for this trip because I felt it would help enhance my trip by enabling me to reflect on each day spent in Brazil. After five extensive days of classes spent with professors Dunkel and Jefferson I feel more than ready to leave. After guest speakers, learning how to do the Brazilian Samba, and researching on Brazil each one of us in the class could tell you anything one would need to know in order to conform to Brazilian culture. To be honest I don't know what to expect or see. It is that reason why I went on this trip. Although I have seen pictures and learned about Brazil I look forward to experiencing it for myself, and not through the words of others. So, as the bus is about to arrive on campus I leave with a readiness, but more than anything an excitement of the unknown. Being in another country with no prior knowledge is nerve raking but more than anything is exciting. I look forward to blogging during this trip. You will be hearing from me soon.
