J-Term Diaries 2010
Randolph-Macon College: January Term Diaries 2010J-term Students Explore the WorldAt Randolph-Macon College, January term-or "J-term"-is time for discovery. During this month, students can immerse themselves in another culture and study abroad, experience the exhilaration of a new internship or delve into a specific area of interest by taking an exciting on- campus course. In January 2010, 184 R-MC students will travel to 19 destinations as part of the college's popular travel-study program. Students typically spend two weeks on campus doing in-classroom research before heading to new horizons. J-term travel destinations for 2010 are: Italy, France, Belgium, Ecuador, Ghana, Australia, China, Ethiopia, England, the Czech Republic, Romania, Japan, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Switzerland, London, Paris and Berlin. In addition, many students will take on-campus courses or participate in internships. Throughout January, students from several travel courses, as well as students taking internships or on-campus courses are sending blog entries back to R-MC. The blogs-or virtual "diaries"-enable students to share their adventures with the R-MC community and beyond. They will post blog entries about their experiences and tell us about the places they visit, or give us insight into their internships or classes. Whether they pack their bags or stay on campus, students will explore new ideas, and they'll no doubt learn a lot about themselves. You can experience their adventures by reading along throughout January.
