INST 381.01 - Science, the Environment and Conflict in the Conquest of the Amazon
Students will embark on a five-day adventure along the Amazon River, including a stop in Rio de Janeiro, host city for the 2016 Olympics. Must-see places include the iconic PŃo de Aš˙car and Christ the Redeemer statue on Corcovado overlooking Guanabara Bay. Students will also travel to Salvador, where they'll sample Bahian food and learn about CandomblÚ, an Afro-Brazilian religion derived from the Yoruba culture.
